Nightingale Nursing & Care Home is an excellent residential and dementia care home for the elderly, in the village of Edwinstowe near Mansfield.
We provide personal care of the highest possible quality for all our residents, providing both short-term and long-term residential care for the elderly and those living with dementia. We also provide respite care for elderly people to give their carers a break.
We are situated in the lovely village of Edwinstowe, seven miles from the town of Mansfield, nine miles from Worksop, and only 16 miles from Newark. Nightingale Care Home is a modern purpose-built property very close to the centre of Edwinstowe. The property landscaped grounds including a sensory garden for the residents enjoyment. There are 49 bedrooms, most with en-suite facilities. Full wheelchair access and a lift to the first floor.
Our friendly and experienced team deliver superior quality residential care to our elderly occupants – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
As an independent care home, we accommodate privately funded and socially funded elderly residents. All our residents are respectfully looked after, with specific attention to their individual care needs.
Our passion is to provide the highest quality, dignified, residential care for all our elderly residents. Our door is always open and we welcome all residents, their families and friends, who wish to be involved in making the home an even better place to live. We believe that it is of the utmost importance that the individual needs, wishes and choices of our elderly care residents are always upheld and respected.

We are completely dedicated to providing a safe, warm and comforting environment for all our elderly residents. We recognise that entering a residential care home can be difficult for all concerned and we try to make the transition as easy as possible by offering any support and assistance we can.
Safe and Caring
The success of our home is based on our wonderful care team. Thanks to them, we have a very happy home and happy residents. All our residential care team are highly trained with regular refresher training, and training in the latest best practice, skills and knowledge. We are extremely proud to be leading the care industry with well over half our team having an NVQ (or equivalent) qualification and many more studying for one. Our new team members receive thorough formal inductions and more personal support from their New Starter Champions.

This afternoon we spent some time in the garden, soaking up a bit more of the lovely weather! ☀️
Judy, Frank, Marion and myself enjoyed having our mid afternoon drink in the sunshine ☀️ and enjoyed a chat about the jobs they all used to do!
Judy worked in a bakery, Frank worked down the pit before working as a fireman at Edwinstowe Fire Station, and Marion was a shop assistant before caring for her parents 🥰
We all loved this chat, it’s always nice to reminisce about the memories our residents have ❤️

More 1-2-1 time this morning, and we’ve been out and about in the community enjoying the lovely weather! ☀️
Fran and I went for a walk to the local high street where we sat and had a coffee and a chin wag whilst doing some people watching!
Fran loved being out and about, looking at the lovely flowers and plants around the village, in people’s gardens as well as on the roadside too! 🌷

This morning was all about 1-2-1 time ❤️
First off I spent some time with the lovely Pat - we never get tired of that beautiful smile! 🥰
Pat enjoyed speaking to me about her son, Chris, and then spoke about how the sunshine makes her fancy getting drunk! She said her drink of choice would be a white wine 🥂 cheers to that! 😄

This morning we had an impromptu visit from Pia Jackson, of Clipstone Cakeaway. Selling lots of her home baked goodies. We hope will return soon as everyone loved the old school cakes 🍰🧁
