Nightingale Care Home

Our friendly and experienced team deliver superior quality residential care to our elderly occupants – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

As an independent care home, we accommodate privately funded and socially funded elderly residents. All our residents are respectfully looked after, with specific attention to their individual care needs.

Our passion is to provide the highest quality, dignified, residential care for all our elderly residents. Our door is always open and we welcome all residents, their families and friends, who wish to be involved in making the home an even better place to live. We believe that it is of the utmost importance that the individual needs, wishes and choices of our elderly care residents are always upheld and respected.

Nightingale Nursing & Care Home was purchased by Jasmine Health Care Limited in March 2020. You can read more about us, our other elderly care homes, and Jasmine’s Mission, Objectives and Values on our About Jasmine page.

Warm and Comforting

We are completely dedicated to providing a safe, warm and comforting environment for all our elderly residents. We recognise that entering a residential care home can be difficult for all concerned and we try to make the transition as easy as possible by offering any support and assistance we can.

We are delighted to announce that Nightingale has achieved a 'Good' rating through an independent mock CQC inspection! 🎉

We are extremely proud of our whole team and the high standards of care we provide every single day.

🔎 What is a CQC inspection?

Every care home is inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to ensure they meet legal standards, focusing on safety, effectiveness, and quality of care.

The inspection process evaluates services based on five key areas:

Safe: Are people protected from harm?
Effective: Does care achieve good outcomes for people?
Caring: Do staff treat people with dignity and kindness?
Responsive: Does the service meet people's needs?
Well-led: Is the leadership strong and supportive?

Based on the inspection, homes are rated Inadequate, Requires Improvement, Good, or Outstanding.

📝 What is a mock inspection and why do we do it?

A mock CQC inspection is a practice run of a Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection, carried out before the real inspectors visit. As with a real CQC inspection, the mock takes place unannounced.

A mock inspection is carried out by an independent provider, in this case Care4Quality, and is designed to test how inspection‑ready the home is and to highlight any areas for improvement. The inspector speaks with management, our teams, our residents and resident's families.

Jasmine ensures our homes are subject to mock inspections, to ensure our homes are always of the highest standard.

A mock inspection can help spot minor gaps or inconsistences that we can address quickly, help highlight areas where we can continue to improve, and great results raise our team members' confidence.

🟢Our Result

Following a surprise inspection on 28 April, we are delighted to receive a 'Good' inspection rating.

Our inspector confirmed that our home is well maintained, our residents well taken care of, and our team are happy!

This outcome is a credit to the hard work and dedication of our whole team at Nightingale 💚

This morning we were brave and went for a walk to see if we could beat the rain! ☔️

Marion, Fran, Kirsty and myself went for a walk to Edwinstowe high street. We went to the Co-Op for some goodies 😋

Of course, it would’ve been rude not to go into Village Xchange for something new for our fireplace! Marion found this lovely wooden fox 🦊 and Fran bought herself a cute monkey teddy which she has named “mini braces” 😆 (if you know, you know!)

The dark clouds were following us on our way back and we nearly made it in time, but just as we approached the home the heavens opened! Luckily we were prepared and Kirsty had some umbrellas in her car 😆☂️

We’ve all enjoyed a chill day here today, it was well needed after all the fun and excitement yesterday 🥰

This morning we’ve enjoyed reading the Daily Sparkle and doing a few different word searches 🔍

This afternoon we’ve had a pamper session. Some of our ladies and gents have had their nails cut and filed, and Thelma chose to have hers painted this lovely purple colour to match her jumper 💅🏼

We’ve all enjoyed

Whoever said not to work with animals or children doesn’t know what they are missing! 😄

After our visit from the therapy dogs this morning, we were joined by our friends from Stephanie Haynes Happy Hearts Childcare this afternoon 🥰

We had lots of fun playing ball games, but most of the afternoon was spent playing hide and seek in the goal nets and behind the curtains! 😆❤️

We absolutely loved our visit from Paddy and Flossy therapy mastiff's this morning! 😍🐾

We were joined by the gorgeous Flossy and Yogi and their owner Dave 😊 everybody’s spirits were instantly raised seeing them, so much love and fusses, it genuinely warmed all of our hearts! ❤️

We can’t wait for our future visits 🥰

Of course, we can’t not acknowledge the heartbreaking loss of the gentle giant himself, Paddy. We were all deeply saddened to learn of his passing over rainbow bridge and send our love and thoughts to Dave and his family as we remember all the joy Paddy brought to everybody who met him ❤️
